What does the drummer from Toto have to do with the Air Force Academy? Keep watching to find out.
On April 1, 1954, Jeff Porcaro was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He was an American drummer, songwriter, and producer. He played for Toto and on thousands of other tracks as a session musician. Porcaro was known for his precise and versatile drumming style, and was highly respected. He died in 1992 at the age of 38, his death being linked to an allergic reaction from spraying insecticide.
On the very same day Jeff Porcaro was born, President Eisenhower signed legislation to establish the United States Air Force Academy. He envisioned the Academy as a premier institution to produce highly skilled and educated leaders for the U.S. Air Force. Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the Academy is a cornerstone of the nation's military education, shaping future generations of leaders in aerospace technology and strategy.
