The Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu famously said that, “if you are depressed you are living in the past. If you are anxious you live in the future. But if you are at peace you are in the present.” This music video shows MJE participants leaving the memories of the past and the uncertainty of the future behind by entering the powerful and inviting atmosphere of MJE and its programs, creating a spiritual connection with the souls around them and the soul within.

Lyrics:
Cars driving in every direction
I am hit with distractions
In this place
Called my mind
My mind is a prison
Trapped in a wondrous mansion
I’m lost in doubts
With no way out
So I go to the forest
To connect with my purpose
I sit down
And scream out loud
I want to be here in this moment
Let me own it
I want to feel it
While the trees and grass surround me
I fall into its imagery
I look out
And start to feel the now
My mind starts to awaken
I pray that I’m not mistaken
So I scream out
Can you hear my now
I want to be here in this moment
let me own it
I want to feel it
Sometimes life takes you away
But just recognize
There’s a part of you that stays
That stays here in the moment
That isn’t broken
That is beautiful
My soul my soul
My soul my soul
My soul my soul
My soul my soul is beautiful
My soul my soul
My soul my soul
My soul my soul is beautiful
I want to be here in this moment
let me own it
I want to feel it
I am here in this moment
I own it
I feel it
Message from Yosef: Shalom friends! I’m super excited to present my second music video! This video, taken with some friends and family, captures the spirit and message of my debut song - In The Moment. This song “In the Moment” came to me as I was in Medzhybizh, a settlement in the Ukraine. I was at the Kever/burial place of the great Chassidic master, the Bal-Shem Tov. I arrived to the holy spot and was frustrated. I wanted to feel the holiness the sanctity of the present moment, but was unable. So after a bit of staring at the gravesite a tune came down as I started singing the words “I want to be here in the moment, let me own it, I want to feel it”. After a few minutes of singing and praying these words over and over again, I started feeling a bit of a release and slowly I began dropping into the present moment. Hence, the last verse of the song is the climax and states “I am here in this moment, I own it, I feel it”. The song ultimately depicts my experience of moving from a place of frustration to a place of freedom. A place of expectation of being in the moment to a place where I was open and present. I believe that it was through my prayer and heartfelt expression that helped me connect to that holy space and moment. As human beings, we all have experienced times in which we so badly want to be in the moment, but for whatever reason are unable. I hope this song/music video resonates with your own journey and helps you find your pathway into the present moment, which is ultimately all we have right now :)
The Music Video shows Yosef Wildes and two MJE participants (Adam Gelbs and Alexandra Feingold) experiencing anxiety and their challenge in tapping into the present moment. As the film goes through its journey and the lyrics continue, the actors begin to experience the present moment, such a gift!
Thank you to my amazing parents, who I love and admire so much, my wonderful and supportive siblings, and of course to MJE (Manhattan Jewish Experience) for sponsoring this music video. Thank you Achi Admit for creating such a master piece and to Gad Elbaz, Elon Gold, LIzzy Savetsky and Gedale Fenster. To my incredible friends and mentors,
Rabbi Mark and Jill Wildes, Rav Amos, Rav Alone Rome, Rabbi Daniel Katz and Rabbi Eytan Korn for giving me what I need to do this work. Lastly to the Source of Everything for being the inspiration and guiding force behind, alongside and ahead of all I do in this world.
