Asher Yotzar - The Story
It all began when I received a call from a company in Israel describing the need for a song to the text of the ברכת אשר יצר. It seems that after a thorough investigation of the abilities of many young people to recite the words of Asher Yotzar without reading from a printed copy, it was determined that there existed the need for a memory aid in the form of a singable melody on the words of the Brocho. The challenge was to write a melody that would make use of each word in this Brocho only once (as is required when making Brachos). Should this song be written and deemed appropriate for this quest, the company would then proceed to manufacture a device that could be mounted on the wall in the washing areas, that when pressed it would play the pre-recorded version of this new song.

יוסי גרין ו'אידישע נחת' בסינגל חדש ומפתיע: "אשר יצר"

"הכול התחיל כשקיבלתי שיחת טלפון מחברה ישראלית, שבעליה הסביר לי על הצורך בשיר למילים של ברכת אשר יצר", מספר המלחין הוותיק והמוערך, יוסי גרין.

מתברר, לאחר בדיקה, שצעירים רבים מתקשים לזכור את נוסח הברכה בעל פה, בלי לקרוא ממקור מודפס. בשל כך הוצע להשתמש בעזר זיכרון – מנגינה שניתן לשיר איתה את מילות הברכה.

"האתגר היה להלחין לחן שישתמש בכל מילה בברכה פעם אחת בלבד (כפי שצריך כשמברכים). החברה שפנתה אליי, במידה והשיר יתאים לה, מתכוונת לייצר מכשיר שניתן להתקין על הקיר באזורי הנטילה, וכשלוחצים עליו – הוא ישמיע את הביצוע המוקלט של השיר החדש", מספר גרין.

המלחין שהסתער על המשימה הייחודית, הצליח בה כמובן ויחד עם הצוות המוזיקלי הישראלי המוכשר, אלי קליין ואיצי ברי שיצרו עיבוד מוזיקלי ססגוני בסגנון דיסני ומקהלת הילדים "אידישע נחת" בניצוחו של משה קרויס עם קולותיה הקסומים, נוצר השיר החדש – "אשר יצר".

גרין מוסיף, כי זהו השיר הראשון בסדרה חדשה של שירים שנכתבים ומופקים עם מחשבה חינוכית.
