Ibrahim Sorie Kamara, born on April 26, is a Sierra Leonean Afrobeats, Afro-pop, and dancehall artist known by his stage name, Zua. He was born and raised in Freetown, the capital city of Sierra Leone, and is renowned for blending Sierra Leonean cultural sounds, such as Bubu, Gumbay, and Mello Jazz, with elements of dancehall, hip-hop, and Soca music. He is also recognized for his unique fusion of Afro-Fusion and Dancehall music. Zua is the founder of Gem101 Entertainment and was previously known as Uncle Papayzua. He changed his name after releasing the hit track "By My Side."

Zua was also part of a music duo called "Black Snoop and Papayzua" before he transitioned to a solo career, which has brought him greater national recognition. Notable tracks that contributed to his success as a solo artist include "Looking Nar Ein Phone," "Sweet Me" featuring Nega Don, and "Down Low." He won the "Best Techno Music" award at the Sierra Leone DJs Union Awards in 2016 for his song "Mr. DJ," which featured the Sierra Leonean rap legend Yok7.

In 2024, Zua won the Awol America Award for the Best Sierra Leone US/Canada Musical Artist Video Song of the Year.

The year 2025 proved to be one of Zua's most successful years, as he received numerous nominations. He was nominated in five different categories at the Sierra Leone Music Awards 2025, including Album of the Year, Music Video of the Year, Music Collaboration of the Year, and Performing Artist of the Year. Additionally, he obtained two nominations from the SLAAM Awards for "Music Video of the Year" and "Best Collaboration of the Year." He also received two nominations at the National Social Awards (NSA) for "Diaspora Artist of the Year" and "Music Video of the Year."

On July 2, 2025, Zua further solidified his status as one of the most celebrated Sierra Leonean artists by releasing a trending hit record titled "Tell Am." The song features two of Sierra Leone's rising stars, Samza and Bakitenno. With its catchy instrumental beats and relatable lyrics, "Tell Am" quickly became a street and club anthem.
